Shipwreck

Thousands of visitors have flocked into Blackpool to see the ill fated Riverdance ferry stranded on the beach. We had to take a look yesterday and we were amazed how near the shoreline it is. Police were guarding the beach to stop looters so we couldn't get any nearer.

Glue Resist

A new challenge on Next Generations for glue resist or gloopy glue.
I had a lot of fun with these.
Mine are deliberate sort of, not random.

FAUX CHIPBOARD

One of the Yahoo groups I belong to set a challenge to create a sketchbook page with the theme Faux Chipboard. We had to use fun foam shapes so I raided my grandchildrens stash. Two coats of gesso, two coats of Willow paint dabber and some stamping with a paint dabber and Brilliance inkpads. I came up with this.

Egypt December 2007

On the 10th December 2007 we flew down to Luxor to board our boat
MS Florence for a week on the Nile.

The following morning we left at 5am to visit The Temple at Karnak.
We watched the sun rise at 5.30 am

After a trip to The Perfume Palace we toured the Luxor Temple.

MEDICAL WALL KOM OMBO
Note the birthing stool, forceps, glass jars, sponge, scissors and needles

ABU SIMBEL

We travelled by mini bus in a military convoy for 2 and 1/2 hours through the Sahara Desert to this temple dedicated to Ramses the 3rd. We beheld four 65 feet high figures cut out of the side of a mountain. Awesome

Close up view of Ramses and Nefertari his favourite wife.
Note the children in between the legs of the monument.

Inside the temple. Detailed relief in fabulous colour. Note the lion.

TEMPLE OF NEFERTARI - Abu Simbel

VALLEY OF THE KINGS

Note the pyramid a natural formation of the mountain in the desert. This would hide the ancient graveyard from tomb robbers. 63 tombs have been found thus far.

The entrance to the famous King Tutankhamun. The tomb is small compared to some of the others because of the young Kings untimely death.

Experiments

I haven't posted in awhile as my mother passed away on the 4th November. It has been difficult to settle down and do anything but I managed a few crafting moments to distract my mind from it all.

This is my slide swap piece for a Yahoo group.
I created a mini book.

The pages depict an Inchie gallery.

The background was created with Scattered Straw Distress Ink and Flourish stamps from my own stamp range

http://www.stampattack.co.uk/

I played with Alcohol Inks

I experimented with Ranger Crackle Paint

on Chipboard pieces

Some items I made last month from CD pieces, Dominoes and faces from moulds waiting to be assembled into necklaces and other projects.

I mostly used Paint Dabbers from Ranger.

I particularly like the black for stamping.
