I bought a canvas kit for a friend and on inspection when I got it home there was a tear in the canvas so I kept it and glued some book pages on with gel medium. When that dried I painted it with Gesso.
The next step was using my Broken China Distress Stain followed by Picket Fence.
It is drying while I plan my layout.
The Wednesday Dash is here so run to Julia's to view desks from all over the world and join in the madness.
Looking forward to see how that progresses... and loved your previous post about the comedy carpet too - even if I did give myself a headache trying to read the jokes *lol*
Bridget #28 very clever save Carole
Great use of something that wasn't quite perfect - I hate throwing stuff away.. Loved the Comedy carpet from the previous post, some of my favourites feature there :)

Great idea, I am sure your cleverness will be awesome. thanks for the peek and sharing
Thanks for sharing your WOYWW. It sounds like great things are in store for your canvas! Good luck and look forward to seeing the results! -Amanda
It’s such a pain when you get stuff home it’s damaged or there’s bits missing but at least you were able to patch you’re up. I had a similar experience with a new kettle this week and had to take it back.
I look forward to seeing what you do with the canvas but for starters I love the colours you’ve used.
Glad you didn't just throw it away to join the rest of the landfill. Looking forward to seeing it finished!
Can't wait to see what else you do to your canvas. Isn't it wonderful what we can cover with some paper, glue and paint.
Hi Carol -- all the way from England. I didn't take a picture of my work area either and haven't yet and it is my second week to participate -- still posting what I made over past couple of weeks. Love the little houses, great canvas mending trick; don't mediums and gesso work wonders. You are making me want to get out my art journals and paints! Blessings Terri www.morningdewdrops.typepad.com
